Student Transfers
A student who resides in VISD and desires admission into a school other than his/her "home," "neighborhood" or "attendance-zoned" campus (i.e. intra-district transfer) OR a student who does not reside within the Victoria ISD area (i.e. out-of-district transfer) and would like to attend a VISD school must file an application for transfer with the Office of Student Services. For all student transfer information, requirements, timelines, types, etc., please reference regulation FDB-R.
Campuses available to accept student transfers are limited due to the effect of additional students on class size, staffing, and facilities. Additional campuses may become unavailable due to capacity after Priority Enrollment Window. Multiple elementary campuses are currently at capacity enrollment thresholds. After a transfer is approved, if transfer criteria is not maintained the district may revoke the transfer and student will return to residency zoned campus.
Current VISD campuses available for Transfer Applications include: Aloe, Dudley, Torres, Mission Valley, Howell MS, Cade MS, Victoria East HS, and Victoria West HS.
If you are interested in one of our Choice Schools (Hopkins, O'Connor, Shields, Smith STEM, Patti Welder, or STEM Middle School) please contact our Office of Innovation at (361) 788-9306 to check availability.
