Victoria Independent School District is excited to announce the launch of the Dual Language Program at Crain Elementary, set to enrich the educational experience of students starting in the 2024-25 school year.
This groundbreaking program is designed to empower students to become proficient in both English and Spanish, fostering an appreciation for language diversity and multiculturalism.

With the vision of offering a holistic approach to language education, the Dual Language Program will provide a well-rounded curriculum that encourages bilingualism, biculturalism, and biliteracy. Students enrolled in this program will have the chance to:
Become Proficient in Two Languages: Students will be immersed in each language for half a day before switching to the other language in order to develop strong language skills in both English and Spanish, enabling them to communicate effectively in a globalized world.
Explore Multicultural Perspectives: The program will introduce students to diverse cultures and customs, fostering a deep appreciation for the richness of our global society.
Gain a Competitive Edge: Being bilingual and biliterate is an asset in today's job market, offering students a significant advantage in various career paths.
Students that successfully complete this program can also earn one High School Language (LOTE) credit by the time they finish 5th grade.
