During the November Visual Art Teacher meeting, art teachers collectively chose four pieces of artwork to represent Victoria ISD for the Youth Art Month (YAM) State Capitol Exhibit. Eight art pieces were brought to the Visual Art Teacher meeting; VISD is limited to submitting four art pieces due to enrollment.

“All pieces submitted are excellent works of art by hard-working students being inspired and guided by hard-working art teachers,” said Jamie Sainz, District Visual Arts Facilitator. “Thank you to every teacher and administrator in VISD for everything that you do every day to bring the Arts to all our students.”

Since its conception, March has been National Youth Art Month, with Texas being a leader in YAM Celebrations and events. The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) sponsors various programs celebrating the month of March. One of those programs is the YAM State Capitol Exhibit, where over 100 pieces are on exhibit at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Lower Rotunda of the State Capitol Building in Austin.
