On Monday, Nov. 1, Victoria ISD selected Jim Bray, a first-year teacher at Victoria East High School, as its November Champion of the Month.
VISD and Atzenhoffer Chevrolet partnered in May 2021 to highlight one VISD staff member each month as the Champion of the Month. This staff member is nominated by their peers for showing commitment to going above and beyond in everything they do.
Each month, the winner receives a brand new Atzenhoffer Chevrolet truck to drive for the next month.
Bray was one of 13 nominations across the district for November.
John Davis, algebra I and geometry teacher at VEHS, stated that though Bray is a first-year teacher “you would never know it by the way he handles himself in both the hallways and his classroom. The students see his genuine concern and I've watched as some of his toughest classes have started to buy in and are now starting to excel. Jim is already on track to becoming an amazing teacher!”
